Our little steps

  • Friends of Mtshabezis first project was the revamping and  painting of the face of the hospital admin block and our very own local Painter Mr Ncube made an assessment and quoted for the works mid November 2021.

  • In February a donation of 20 litres of white paint, 2.x 5 litres of perma bonding liquid, 1 x arm type automatic blood pressure machine, 4x medical infrared forehead thermometers, 4x small blue tint tubes, 1x finger tip pulse oximeter, blood lancets, trigger pen and glucose testing strips were kindly donated y the three founding members of FoMH and were received and signed for on behalf of the hospital by the Friends of Mtshabezi Community Committee .

  • In February 2021, the painting of the admin block started, pictures were taken with consent of workers and was completed promptly to our satisfaction.

  • Early March 2022 a brand new signage with the hospital name was made in South Africa and doanted by FoMH member, to replace the worn out one, which had faded and  was no longer legible. The signage was mounted in the newly painted admin front block giving the face of the hospital a brand new look.

  • With some funds raised we went on to purchase, sickles or grass cutters and together with a signage shipped to Zimbabwe, curtesy of our very own malayitsha a local member of the community who offered free service.

  • A handover celebration with delegates from the FoMH Community Committee and Hospital delegates was held on the 14/03/2022.

  •  The next phase was to increase water capacity to the wards, 2 JoJo or 5000 litre plastic water tanks were purchased and later transported to Mtshabezi courtesy of secondary school truck and kindness of one of our active Pastor member of the community.

  • In November one our community committee members donated  time and a truck and together with the local community supplied the much needed river sand in preparation for the stand installation.

  • 25 bags of free cement were also donated by one our diaspora members. The stands were installed after some dealys as it had rained making the ground unstable. The two water tanks were mounted, piping done  to supply the wards

  • The stands were installed and water tanks mounted and now more water supply is available to the wards

FoMH assisted by the Bulawayo Central Brethren in Christ men’s fellowship, came together and purchased these metal stands where the water tanks would be mounted

FoMH purchased the two x x5000 litre tanks to add water capacity to the hospital wards

Projects in progress

We are still campaigning to raise enough funds for a good replacement Ambulance. We have raised a substantial amount however it still falls short if we are to get an ambulance that will withstand the rough terrain of the area. So please continue to donate through our various channels
